Apophis Defeated - History

Apep ( / ˈ æ p ɛ p / or / ˈ ɑː p ɛ p / also spelled Apepi or Aapep) or Apophis ( / ˈ æ p ə f ɪ s / Ancient Greek: Ἄποφις ) was the ancient Egyptian deity who embodied chaos (ı͗zft in Egyptian) and was thus the opponent of light and Ma'at (order/truth). He appears in art as a giant serpent. His name is reconstructed by Egyptologists as *ʻAʼpāp(ī), as it was written ꜥꜣpp(y) and survived in later Coptic as Ⲁⲫⲱⲫ Aphōph. [1] Apep was first mentioned in the Eighth Dynasty, and he was honored in the names of the Fourteenth Dynasty king 'Apepi and of the Greater Hyksos king Apophis.

Apep (Apophis)

Apep (Aapep, Apepi or Apophis) was the ancient Egyptian spirit of evil, darkness and destruction. As the arch enemy of the sun god, Ra, he was a malevolent force who could never be entirely vanquished. Every night, as the sun travelled though the underworld (or across the sky), his roar would fill the air and he would launch his attack.

Apep attacking the Solar Boat

Although he was believed to have existed since primeval times, Apep is not mentioned by name until the Middle Kingdom. It is possible that he was born out of the chaos and uncertainty brought about by the end of the Old Kingdom. However, some experts have questioned whether the First Intermediate period was actually a dark age, and it is also possible that depictions of large serpents on Predynastic pottery may relate to him.

There a number of serpent gods or demons who appear in early texts (such as the Pyramid Texts) as representatives of evil or chaos. However, the mythology surrounding him largely developed during the New Kingdom in funerary texts such as the Duat (or Amduat). During the Roman Period, he was sometimes referred to as “he who was spat out” and considered to have been born of the saliva of the goddess Neith.

According to one myth, Apep would hypnotise the sun god and all of his followers, except Set who would repel the serpent by piercing his side with a great spear. In some texts, Apep would trap the boat of Ra in his massive coils (referred to as sandbanks) or cause the waters of the underworld to flood to overwhelm him. In other texts Apep was equated with Set (who was after all a god of chaos) and an army of major and minor gods and goddesses (including Isis, Neith, Serqet (Selket), Geb, Aker and the followers of Horus and other unnamed gods in the form of monkeys) would defend him. The dead themselves (sometimes in the form of the god Shu) could also fight Apep to help maintain Ma´at (order). Apep would swallow the sun god, but they would cut a hole in the belly of the snake to allow the sun god to escape. If they failed, the world would be plunged into darkness.

Like Set, Apep was also associated with various frightening natural events such as unexplained darkness caused by solar eclipse, storms and earthquakes. They were both linked to the northern sky (a place that the Egyptians considered to be cold, dark and dangerous) and they were both at times associated with Taweret, the demon-goddess. However, unlike Set he was always a force for evil and could not be reasoned with.

Apep was often depicted as a huge serpent with tightly compressed coils to emphasis his huge size. In funerary texts he is usually shown in the process of being dismembered in various ways. In a detailed depiction in the tomb of Ramesses VI twelve heads are painted above the head of the snake representing the souls he has swallowed who are briefly freed when his body is destroyed, only to be imprisoned again the following night. In an alternative depiction inscribed in a number of tombs of private individuals Hathor or Ra is transformed into a cat who slices the huge serpent with a knife. Apep was also represented by a circular ball, the “evil eye” of Apep, being struck by the pharaoh in numerous temple scenes.

Apep was known by many epithets, such as “the evil lizard”, “the encircler of the world”, “the enemy” and “the serpent of rebirth”. He was not worshipped, he was feared, but was possibly the only god (other than The Aten during the Amarna period) who was considered to be all powerful. He did not require any nourishment and could never be completely destroyed, only temporarily defeated.

Apep led an army of demons that preyed on the living and the dead. To defeat this malevolent force a ritual known as “Banishing Apep” was conducted annually by the priests of Ra. An effigy of Apep was taken into the temple and imbued with all of the evil of the land. The effigy was then beaten, crushed smeared with mud and burned. Other rituals involved the creation of a wax model of the serpent which was ritually dismembered and the burning of a papyrus bearing an image of the snake. The “Book of Apophis” is a collection of magical spells from the New Kingdom which were supposed to repel or contain the evil of the serpent.

Apep was hated and feared by the Egyptians, but two of the Hyksos rulers took his name as their coronation name (although they used a slightly different spelling).

Worship [ edit | edit source ]

Apep was not so much worshipped, instead being worshipped against. His defeat each night, in favour of Ra, was thought to be ensured by the prayers of the Egyptian priests and worshipers at temples. The Egyptians practiced a number of rituals and superstitions that were thought to ward off Apep, and aid Ra to continue his journey across the sky.

In an annual rite, called the Banishing of Apep, priests would build an effigy of Apep that was thought to contain all of the evil and darkness in Egypt, and burn it to protect everyone from Apep's influence for another year, in a similar manner to modern rituals such as Zozobra.

The Egyptian priests even had a detailed guide to fighting Apep, referred to as The Books of Overthrowing Apep (or the Book of Apophis, in Greek). The chapters described a gradual process of dismemberment and disposal, and include:

  • Spitting Upon Apep
  • Defiling Apep with the Left Foot
  • Taking a Lance to Smite Apep
  • Fettering Apep
  • Taking a Knife to Smite Apep
  • Laying Fire Upon Apep

In addition to stories about Apep's defeats, this guide had instructions for making wax models, or small drawings, of the serpent, which would be spat on, mutilated and burnt, whilst reciting spells that would aid Ra. Fearing that even the image of Apep could give power to the demon, any rendering would always include another deity to subdue the monster, and/or knives already stabbed into him.

As Apep was thought to live in the underworld, he was sometimes thought of as an Eater-up of Souls. Thus the dead also needed protection, so they were sometimes buried with spells that could destroy Apep. The Book of the Dead does not frequently describe occasions when Ra defeated the chaos snake explicitly called Apep. Only BD Spells 7 and 39 can be explained as such.

Egypt Serpent God Apep

Apep or Apophis has been described as a huge serpent (or crocodile) who lived in the waters of Nun or in the celestial Nile. Being a huge serpent, his coils were tightly compressed to emphasize his huge size. Usually, in funerary texts, he is shown in the process of being dismembered in various ways.

A detailed depiction shows the tomb of Ramesses VI, where twelve heads are painted above the head of the snake. These heads represented the souls this serpent has swallowed who are briefly freed when destroyed, only to be imprisoned again the following night.

Apep was the God of chaos and commanded an army of demons that threatened mankind. Apep was not only a threat to people and ancient Gods but also against Ma’at and creation itself. Apep was never worshiped and it was only by putting faith in the gods of light people could defeat him and his demons. Ancient Egyptians protected themselves against him by performing a ritual called the “Banishing of Apep” held by the priests of Ra.

Apep was a demon of unknown and chaos and related to frightening and destructive events such as unexplained darkness and evil. During solar eclipses, it was interpreted as a victory of Apep over Sun god Ra as he swallowed the solar bark. People performed rituals to ensure that he could do no harm.

NASA Fatally Wrong about Asteroid Apophis

Space agency’s miscalculations greatly underestimate real threat

While the dire reality of the environmental destruction is staggering to consider, there’s another massive threat to the planet and human survival. NASA recently took the opportunity to disagree with Elon Musk’s concern about a threat to the planet from asteroids, and then to specifically dismiss concerns about asteroid Apophis .

Both times NASA greatly – and dangerously incorrectly – minimized the actual threat of Apophis impacting Earth.

Apophis was “officially discovered” by NASA in 2004…23 years after Billy Meier first published information from the Plejaren about it and the threat it posed, referring to it as the Red Meteor at the time.

While NASA has been unconcerned from the beginning about any potential danger from Apophis, they changed their estimate of its size to within 25 meters of Meier’s information. It’s just a…coincidence, of course.

Apophis also attracted the attention of people like Brian May who, along with some others, created the Asteroid Day event and have effectively trivialized the actual threat from the asteroid and turned it into an opportunity to party and sell T-shirts .

The UFO Connection

We’re quite aware that any information connected to the topic of UFOs is often dismissed from the outset by many people. Fortunately, Harvard Prof. Avi Loeb’s search for extraterrestrial life has given this once marginalized topic renewed international interest among inquisitive scientists, professors, media, etc.

And while it’s often assumed that there must be other intelligent life in the universe, no one seems to question SETI’s assumption that we will “find” and contact it – through ridiculous means – when it’s obvious that any existing race capable of coming here would contact us…if they wanted to. And neither scientists nor UFOlogists ever credibly explain why an extraterrestrial race would want to contact us, at our comparatively primitive level of evolution.

Our Future Survival

These questions are clearly answered in the Meier contacts. Unlike all of the fearful, misleading information that projects our own negative, violent characteristics onto imaginary evil “aliens”, intent on invading, abducting and destroying us, the Plejaren extraterrestrials wish to assist us to assure our own, very threatened, future survival, without directly interfering in our world.

The unerringly accurate scientific information and prophetic warnings they’ve provided, for almost 70 years, clearly express this intention. This includes the extensive, unheeded warnings about the – now unstoppable – environmental destruction, the warnings about Apophis, and specific, previously unknown information about Mars, etc., all of which were verifiably published long before “official discovery”.

Sill Ongoing

The Billy Meier UFO contacts are still ongoing in Switzerland, for over 77 years, and contain more than 45,000 pages of information, most of it still untranslated from the original German.

Independent expert analyses and authentication of Meier’s physical UFO evidence span 40 years. A recently concluded, eight-month long investigation by the – formerly skeptical – USAF OSI investigator/supervisor, Joe Tysk, resulted in the definitive authentication of the Meier contacts. He conclusively ended any credible skeptical challenges to Meier’s evidence and claims.

The greatest challenge so far has been to get otherwise intelligent people to simply look through the proverbial telescope and determine the truth for themselves.

As for NASA, SETI, etc., they are certainly aware of the Meier contacts. But as is often the case – especially in America – political, economic and other selfish considerations supersede everything, including their own stated policies and public pronouncements.

Consequently, they stubbornly continue to ignore the unprecedented, singularly authentic, most important of all scientific evidence and information in human history, despite the consequences of continuing to do so will also directly…impact them and their families, as well as everyone else on Earth. Perhaps they also forget that Apophis is called the Destroyer and that it’s an equal opportunity destroyer at that.

The people were warned…and did they listen?

Now that mass extinction is becoming a trendy topic, perhaps the promoters would do something really significant and publicize Billy Meier’s warnings about Apophis

In 1987, Billy Meier knew the Mars probe would be called “2001 Mars Odyssey”

The Ancient Egyptian Demon Worm Apep

In ancient Egypt, the serpent Apep (Apophis) was known as the evil god who lived in the underworld, and was the most wicked enemy of Ra. Apep was personified with the darkness of the darkest hour of the night, against which the God of light Ra must not only battle, but fight successfully before he could rise in the east in the morning.

Ra was worshipped as a savior, and Apep worshipped against as the destroyer. Ra was the bringer of light and order, and upholder of Ma’at. Apep was the bringer of darkness, and Lord of Chaos. Apep was often depicted as a giant snake/serpent, and was sometimes called the Serpent from the Nile and Evil Lizard. Some accounts even said that his body stretched 16 yards in length and had a head made of flint.

The Egyptians believed that Apep lived in the waters (blood) of the Egyptian underworld (earth), Duat, and would rouse from his slumber every night to attack Ra’s boat as it made its way through the underworld. The Duat is the realm of the gods and supernatural beings. It is the region through which the god of light Ra travels from west to east during the night as he battles the demon worm Apep.

In many of my past articles, I had explained that these ancient accounts of serpents, snakes and dragons through all ancient cultures were myths explained in allegorical fashion, and exoteric explanations to personify the human battle with forces of darkness that we know of today simply as worms and human parasites.

This ancient fight between the forces of light and darkness and serpents (dragons) and men, is what I like to call the eternal alchemical battle for dominion of your soul while incarnated in the flesh. As I have often stated many times before, there is a war for your soul that is being fought on a daily basis, and those of you who are not aware of this age-old fact have most likely lost the battle to the demon worm of darkness and chaos, Apep before they have even began to fight.

It is at night, that the forces of darkness which infest humans today, and that are known by names such as pinworms and threadworms, are most active. The adult worms live in the colons (large intestines) of humans, and the female worms migrate to the lower bowel out of the person’s anus to lay their eggs. What the ancient cultures such as the Egyptians had depicted in the demon serpent Apep, was the eternal battle with these parasites that use the human body to survive and reproduce.

Just look at these worms above and don’t they now resemble some type of evil monster or demon like Apep?

These worms can also become almost demon like in their manners if the human host starts to lose the battle with them. A lost fight, that I believe then allows the worm to control the mind (blood and brain) of their victims. This process can be compared to a pack of wild animals that converge on their prey by gang stalking, and then attacking their victims with a full on assault that almost always ends in death for the unfortunate victim. This same thing happens with worms, but on a smaller scale, with smaller teeth and a slower death than we see happen with wild pack animals.

Is there truly a war for your soul, Lord or your Ba with the ancient serpent (worm) Apep?

This I believe is confirmed by the ancient Egyptians who were well-known as some of the most ancient alchemists, with Apep who was sometimes known as the “Eater of Souls” in which the dead needed protection, so they were often buried with magic spells that could destroy him. In the Book of the Dead, it describes how Ra defeated the chaos demon serpent called Apep in which 7 spells of 39 can be explained as such.

In the book “The Gods of the Egyptians,” or “Studies in Egyptian Mythology, Volume 1” by Sir Ernest Alfred Wallis Budge, he details these chapters In the 34th Chapter the deceased says:

“Get thee back, “Fiend, before the darts of his beams. Ra hath overthrown “thy words, the gods have turned thy face backwards, the Lynx hath torn open thy breast, the”Scorpion goddess, cast feters upon thee, and “Maat hath sent forth thy destruction. Those who are in the “ways have overthrown thee fall down and depart, O Apep, “thou Enemy of Ra.” A little further on the deceased says: “I “have brought fetters to thee, O Ra, and Apep hath fallen because “thou hast drawn them tight. The gods of the South, and of the “North, of the West and of the East have fastened chains upon “him, and they have fastened him with fetters the god.

From the “Books of Overthrowing Apep,” it provides information how to destroy this demon worm, which was said to be recited daily in the temple of Amen-Ra at Thebes. The first Book was divided into Chapters, which were entitled:

1. Chapter of spitting upon Apep.

2. Chapter of defiling Apep with the left foot.

3. Chapter of taking a lance to smite Apep.

4. Chapter of fettering Apep.

5. Chapter of taking a knife to smite Apep.

6. Chapter of putting fire upon Apep.

The following Books describe with great detail the destruction which was to fall upon Apep. First he is to be speared, then gashed with knives, and every bone of his body having been separated by red-hot knives, and his head, and legs, and tail, etc., having been cut off, his remains were to be scorched, and singed, and roasted, and finally shrivelled up and consumed by fire. The same fate was to come upon Apep’s confederates, and everything which formed parts of him and of them, i.e., their shadows, souls, doubles, and spirits (1)

In Egyptian Magic, by Sir Ernest Alfred Wallis Budge, he had written that book called “The Book of Overthrowing Apep,” which contained two versions of the history of the Creation, and a list of the evil names of Apep, and a hymn to Ea. One chapter is dedicated to putting the “fire upon Apep,” where it is written, ” Fire be upon thee, “Apep, thou enemy of Ea! The Eye of Horus prevails “over the accursed soul and shade of Apep, and the Chapter of Coming Forth by Day, p. 89: ” flame of the Eye of Horus shall gnaw into that enemy “of Ea and the flame of the Eye of Horus shall consume all the enemies of the Mighty God, life! “strength! health! both in death and in life. When “Apep is given to the flame,” says the rubric, ” thou “shalt say these words of power:—Taste thou death, “O Apep, get thee back, retreat, O enemy of Ea, fall “down, be repulsed, get back and retreat! I have “driven thee back, and I have cut thee in pieces.”

“Ea triumphs over Apep. “Ea triumphs over Apep. “Ea triumphs over Apep. “Ea triumphs over Apep.

Taste thou death, Apep.
Taste thou death, Apep.
Taste thou death, Apep.
Taste thou death, Apep.”

These last sentences were said four times, that is to say, once for each of the gods of the cardinal points. The text continues, “Back, Fiend, an end to thee! “Therefore have I driven flame at thee, and therefore “have I made thee to be destroyed, and therefore have “I adjudged thee to evil. An end, an end to thee! “Taste thou death! An end to thee! Thou shalt never “rise again.”(2)

Egyptian Gods: Apep

Apep is the serpent god of evil and destruction. In ancient Egypt, he is the deification of several evil concepts including darkness, chaos and destruction. He may also be known as Aepep, Apophis or Apepi. He is definitive enemy of one of the most powerful gods, the sun go Ra. Apep is believed to threaten the god especially during his nightly travels across the sky. Because of his menace to the sun god, he is connected to the idea of the destruction of creation because the whole world would plunge into darkness if he successfully devours Ra. It is also because of his malevolence that several other deities were enjoined to protect the sun god. Originally, it was Set and Menhen that protected the god in his solar barge. They would usually cut the belly of the serpent to release Ra from his clutches. However, in later years, Set evolved to become and equal if not Apep himself so the duty was passed on to other deities including Isis, Bastet, Sekhmet, Neith, Serket, Geb, Aker and even the followers of Horus. They female protectors were collectively known as the Eyes of Ra. Sometimes, even the god Shu as a personification of all the dead would help in subduing Apep in order to maintain the principles of Ma’at.

Most frightening natural occurrences were almost solely associated with Apep. Solar eclipses, devastating earthquakes, and terrible storms were linked to his name. He was believed to dwell in the northern skies – a place that Egyptian thought to be dangerous, dark and cold. Like Set, he was always closely linked with the demon goddess Taweret. However, their only difference was that, Apep, unlike Set, will always be a force of the dark doing evil things without reason.

Apep became a full-blown deity during the Middle Kingdom although evidence of serpent gods existed even before the Predynastic Period especially in potteries and other art forms. During the New Kingdom, stories and legends about him largely developed particularly in funerary texts. During Roman Period, he acquired the epithet “He who was spat out” because he came to existence from the saliva of Neith.

The most famous depiction of Apep is that of a gigantic serpent whose body has been coiled so tightly showing his almost unfathomable size. In funerary texts, he is seen a a dismembered snake sometimes by Hathor or Ra in a cat form using a knife. In certain temples, he is seen as a huge circular ball representing his evil eye.

His reputation usually precedes him that instead of being worshipped, he mostly feared and disliked. He is perhaps the only god, who can never be defeated only temporarily subdued. His powers are so immense he did not require nourishment to continue living. Due to his menacing qualities, he acquired several epithets throughout the history of Egypt including:

 The Serpent of Rebirth
 The Enemy
 The Encircler of the World
 The Evil Lizard

His army was thought to feed on the living and the dead. To halt their rampage, a ritual known as the “Banishing of Apep” was performed annually by priests of Ra. Usually, a statue of Aten was taken to the temple and imbued with all the known evils of Egypt. The effigy is then beaten, smeared with mud and burned down to its ashes. Similarly, other rituals are also based on this principle to ward off the malevolent force of Apep. Some would burn a papyrus drawn with the image of a serpent or a wax Apep is dismembered ritually.

During the New Kingdom, a special compilation of spells was collected in order to defeat Apep and repel his hold on the world. It was known as the “Book of Apophis”. This book also known as Books of Overthrowing Apep included the following descriptive chapters:
 Spitting Upon Apep
 Defiling Apep with the Left Foot
 Taking a Lance to Smite Apep
 Fettering Apep
 Taking a Knife to Smite Apep
 Laying Fire Upon Apep

Grievous Failures in Science

It's not difficult to shoot down the prevailing assumptions of science that the universe is billions of years old and life has been "evolving" with a known cause for many millions of years.

Human population growth has always been so rapid that if one man and one man were implanted on earth a million years ago, at known growth rates, the entire universe would be full of dead bodies.

Suppose we could walk back into past history to the beginning. Known and well documented history can easily be visited back to the time of Christ, about 50 generations. The genealogy of Jesus back to Adam is given to us by Luke.

Seasons of Stress in history are well known and have been well documented. Historical time has discontinuous breaks described long ago by Archbishop Trench:

"It is during the times of stress that the real character of human beings comes to the surface, that raw ugly sores open in society and the situation becomes dangerous and violent. Astrologers would describe such times as arising from most unfortunate aspects of the planets all lining up at once."

"The 'seasons' are the critical epoch-making periods foreordained of God, when all that has been slowly, and often without observation, ripening through long ages is mature and comes to birth in grand decisive events, which constitute at once the close of one period and the commencement of another. Such, for example, was the passing away of the old Jewish dispensation such, again, the recognition of Christianity as the religion of the Roman Empire such the conversion of those outside such the great revival which went along with the first institution of the Mendicant Orders such, by still better right, the Reformation such, above all others, the second coming of the Lord in glory." (Archbishop Trench)

But it appears all of known history encompasses only 73 generations from the first man, Adam, with no breaks. There is one major discontinuity at the time of the flood, and people before the Flood lived nearly 1000 years. Best estimates are that Adam was created about 5810 BC, or about 7800 BC.

But during the "Six Days" the universe was under construction, time was undefined. Certainly the universe shows an appearance of great age. Yet time itself was undefined until the universe was switched on, on Day Seven!

The Bible, given to us by the Creator of all things as a Handbook secular science does to take seriously.

You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things. Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel, for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, even to the point of chains but the word of God is not chained. Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. This is a faithful saying:

For if we died with Him,
We shall also live with Him. If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him,
He also will deny us. If we are faithless,
He remains faithful
He cannot deny Himself.

Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers. Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:1-15)

Chart of the Ages of Ancient History and Time

Immense Strength: As an Evil Dragon said to be stronger then even the Five Great Dragon Kings, Apophis was an immensely powerful dragon. In fact, he was said to be among the three most powerful evil dragons alongside Crom Cruach and Aži Dahāka, as well as being so strong that he was known as the Nemesis of Ra the Egyptian God of the Sun. In Volume 21, it is revealed that he achieved Heavenly Dragon-class power, being much stronger than Rizevim, but not as powerful as Crom Cruach who surpassed Ddraig and Albion in their prime. He could fight on par with Issei Hyoudou, who was wearing his Diabolos Dragon armor. The Sun God Ra is the only one who can actually properly defeat him.

Immense Durability: Apophis had immense durability, as it took Issei firing a combination of the immensely powerful Infinity Blaster and Longinus Smasher to finish him off.

Darkness Manipulation: Apophis had immense darkness and shadow based abilities. He was able to utilize his full strength under the shade of darkness and his darkness was capable of dissolving its opponent simply upon contact. Apophis could fire projectiles of darkness, either from the darkness itself or his mouth, to attack his opponents, or use it to defend himself by absorbing and dissolving enemy attacks. Apophis was powerful enough to create four large spheres of darkness that he used against Issei during their battle.

  • Primordial Water (原初の水, Gensho no Mizu): Apophis' special technique. He was able to produce and manipulate large volumes of Black Water to submerge his surroundings and attack his opponents. This water was extremely deadly, as it was capable of dissolving anything it came into contact with. Its dissolving properties were powerful enough to wound even God-class beings, and damage Issei's Diabolos Dragon armor which was previously unscathed from the Super Devil Rizevim's attacks.
  • Dark Field Barrier: He was shown to be capable of creating a strong and tough black barrier where he could create a dark world of his own inside. As seen during his fight with Issei, it is revealed that the reason why he placed a barrier around them was to prevent Trihexa from interfering with their fight. He was aware that if Trihexa sensed Issei's Diabolos Dragon form, then the beast would come over to their place, knowing the fact that Trihexa would be interested in both Ophis and Great Red's powers.

Magic: In Volume 20, Apophis had shown some skills in magic, having used it to store away the Holy Grail and summon it back when he needed it.

Shapeshifting: Apophis was able to shapeshift between his human form and his Dragon form. To shapeshift into his Dragon form, he enveloped his entire body in darkness, expanding and shaping himself into his true form.
